The deadline to fulfill your package tickets expires at the end of the Festival (January 31, 2027). You may also use any unfulfilled package tickets in the Waitlist line. We strongly encourage you to fulfill your package early as screenings sell out quickly.
The Festival is cashless. In-person box office transactions require a credit or debit card to complete a purchase. For Waitlist purchases, a Waitlist Wallet with valid card payment method is required for entry.
Ticket packages comprise individual transferable tickets that can be shared. You may use all your tickets for a single screening or single tickets to multiple screenings or any combination in between totaling your package quantity. The purchaser of the package is not required to attend.
You’ve exceeded the purchase limit for your account (two per package type). While you can purchase up to 10 tickets for a specific screening, you can only keep one; you must gift the others at checkout.
Account limits apply; most packages are limited to two per account. If you exceed this, you must gift the additional packages. Ignite Packages are limited to one per account and cannot be gifted or transferred.
There are no tickets sold in person prior to the Festival; all transactions must be made online through the Sundance Film Festival website. During the Festival, the Information Hub & Box Office (1303 Pearl Street, Boulder, CO 80302) will be open daily, and screening venue box offices will open one hour prior to the first scheduled screening of the day.
All screening tickets are fully transferable. The ticket purchaser is not required to be in attendance. When transferring a product through your Festival account, verify that you are using the recipient’s correct email address. They will receive a confirmation email with instructions, including steps to create an account if they don’t have one.
All tickets are digital, and there are no physical tickets available for in-person pickup. Guests can present a QR code on mobile devices through their Festival account or print the PDF ticket included in their confirmation email.
The Sundance Film Festival does not offer reserved seating. All theater seating is general admission, and guests are admitted on a first-come, first-seated basis.
Lines form at screening venues approximately one hour prior to the screening start time. The theater opens to attendees approximately 30 minutes prior to the scheduled start time.
A ticket does not guarantee admittance, and Waitlist tickets are sold to any remaining empty seats at the start of every screening. Late entry is permitted at the discretion of the theater staff if space is available.
Your physical pass is all you need to attend screenings. An Express Pass does not require a ticket or advance reservation. Arrive at least 30 minutes before the scheduled start time for priority entrance. Passholders must be in line at the venue at least 15 minutes before the scheduled start time or admittance is subject to available seating. Passholders are not guaranteed admission, as theaters are filled on a first-come, first-seated basis.
Promo codes are case-sensitive, subject to quantity limits, and have specific restrictions. Check the fine print on your code. If you receive an error stating the maximum number of uses has been met, the code is no longer available.
A valid pass or ticket is required for entry. Please contact Customer Support if you believe your pass has been lost or stolen.
The Waitlist is a standby system when advance tickets are no longer available.
Enrolled students (all ages) and young attendees aged 18–25 are eligible for discounted Single Film Tickets. The ticket discount is $15 (all-in price) and available across all public screenings while supplies last. Pre-Registration is open starting December 8 and is required for access to discounted tickets. Once registration is complete you will be able to purchase discounted tickets starting January 8. The discount offer is limited to 2 tickets per film screening, with a total limit of 20 film tickets per user.
