As America kicks off its 250th year, we will contemplate how entertainment storytelling is a key driver fostering connection and healthier conflict across our unique lived experiences. Research consistently shows that audiences are hungry for a reset — stories that reflect a broader spectrum of American life and a more pluralistic vision of the American dream, where difference is a source of strength.
This conversation will convene filmmaking talent, studio executives, and bridge-building leaders to unpack research that identifies the shared beliefs, values, and behaviors that unify Americans across backgrounds, uncovering how entertainment can help Americans better see and understand each other. We will also share tips on how storytelling can challenge false narratives of division, inspire curiosity, and bolster the creative courage of artists seeking to portray the full complexity of the American experience.
Bridge Entertainment Labs (BEL) is the entertainment office for the national movement to combat toxic polarization and build social cohesion in America.
Partner events are independently conceived and produced by sponsor and partner organizations. These events take place in official Festival locations and all organizations follow the Sundance Film Festival community agreement.

Steven Olikara is CEO of Bridge Entertainment Labs, leveraging entertainment to bridge divides in America. He founded Future Caucus, the largest cross-partisan network of young elected leaders in the U.S., and serves as Senior Fellow at the USC Schwarzenegger Institute. He is a Truman Scholar and Forbes “30 Under 30” honoree.
Jared Geesey is executive vice president, international at Angel Studios, where he leads global distribution strategy, partnerships, and theatrical expansion for one of the fastest growing independent studios in the world. Jared is known for building innovative distribution models rooted in listening deeply to audiences and creators alike.
Becca Kearl is the executive director of Living Room Conversations and a recognized leader in efforts to bridge divides nationwide. Through roles with the Bridging Movement Collaborative, Civic Collaboratory, and National Week of Conversation, she brings a unique perspective on how stories and dialogue fuel connection across communities.
Jared Ian Goldman, principal of Mighty Engine, is a multi-award-winning producer known for bold, character-driven film/TV including 2026 Sundance Film Festival selection In The Blink of an Eye (dir. Andrew Stanton) — his seventh film at the Festival — Peacock’s hit series Ponies, Emmy nominee Russian Doll, and Sundance Film Festival titles Ingrid Goes West, The Skeleton Twins, and The Wackness.
