For those who plan to watch feature films, shorts programs, or episodic online, you can do so via the Festival website on your browser, AppleTV, Roku, or FireTV. 

To help you have the best Festival experience, we recommend testing your technology prior to the Festival to ensure everything is working properly. To help you do this, we have created a short animated film (less than 5 minutes long) to help you test out your tech setup before the Festival.

Follow the steps listed below to test your setup. Check out our Watch Online article, visit our streaming vendor’s online help page, or contact us at sundancesupport@sundance.org for assistance.

1. Go to the Films section of the Program and look for the film called Test Your Tech.
2. Select this film to get to the film detail page.
3. Click on the Unlock button to redeem a free ticket to this film. After clicking on it, the button will update to say Watch Now.
4. Click Watch Now to open the pop up that allows you to watch the film (click Yes when asked if you want to start your watch window). 
5. Check that your video and audio are working when the film starts. Try using the player controls to stop, pause, fast forward, rewind, turn on closed captions, etc.
6. If everything is working you are ready to attend the Festival online!

Note: Test Your Tech has an extended watch window that runs until 11:00 p.m. MT on February 1, 2026, so you will be able to restart this film and test your tech set up as many times as you need to or on multiple devices.
