Our series of informal chats brings together special guests for thought-provoking encounters and fascinating dialogue. Previous Cinema Café guests have included Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Tessa Thompson, Jane Campion, Eugenio Derbez, Lena Dunham, Norman Lear, Kumail Nanjiani, Saoirse Ronan, Spike Lee, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Radha Blank, Ira Glass, Hillary Rodham Clinton, Charlie Kaufman, Ice-T, Winston Duke, Eva Victor, Mstyslav Chernov, Olivia Colman, Daniel Kaluuya, Marlee Matlin, Chloë Sevigny, Celine Song, D. Events located at the Filmmaker Lodge are free for all Festival badge holders and attendees with a Festival ID attached to a 2026 Sundance Film Festival account.

Access is provided on a first-come, first-served basis and is subject to seating availability. No ticket or pre-registration is required to attend.

Panelist Name

James Wan

    James Wan is an Australian film producer, screenwriter, and film director of Malaysian Chinese descent. He is widely known for directing the horror film Saw and creating Billy the puppet. Wan has also directed Dead Silence, Death Sentence, Insidious, The Conjuring, and Furious 7.

      A co-founder of SpectreVision, Noah is a Sundance Film Festival veteran, having produced Mandy, A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night, Cooties, The Greasy Strangler, Bitch, and last year’s Rabbit Trap. A graduate of NYU’S Tisch School of the Arts, Daniel is currently an adjunct professor at USC’s School of Cinematic Arts.

        Elijah Wood is partner and creative director at SpectreVision, known for films like A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night, Mandy, and Rabbit Trap. With 30+ years in film, his acting spans from Lord of the Rings and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind to Wilfred and Yellowjackets. Off set, he DJs as half of Wooden Wisdom.
