The Yellow BirdUS Animation ShortU.S.A., 2008, 12 mins., color After taking a job on a cattle ranch in eastern Montana, an accident causes a World War I draft dodger to reflect back on his life as he seeks medical attention in a nearby town.
CAST Tom Schroeder - Tom Schroeder's animated films have been broadcast on PBS's Independent Lens and Sundance Channel and have screened at the American Cinematheque in Los Angeles and the Anthology Film Archives in New York. His film Bike Ride was included on the Best of RESFEST: Vol. 2 DVD. Schroeder received Minnesota State Arts Board Grants in 1991, 1999, and 2006; Jerome Film and Video Grants in 2000 and 2004; a McKnight Fellowship in 2006; and Bush Artists Fellowships in 1997 and 2008. He recently created animated spots for Kashi, Samsung, and Hertz Car Rental and is represented as a commercial director by Kachew in Los Angeles.
