Presented by The Redford Center
Partner Event
A Redford Legacy and Exploration: The Future of Environmental Film

+ More

Environmental stories shape how we understand the planet, our connection to it, and our responsibility to protect it. This panel explores Robert Redford’s enduring environmental film legacy, the ways it continues through his family and the work of The Redford Center, NRDC, and at the Sundance Film Festival.

Panelists will reflect on Redford’s belief that film can expand and deepen our relationship to the natural world, elevate underrepresented voices, and strengthen democracy. The conversation will examine how environmental stories can make complex issues personal and urgent, and how filmmakers have a unique opportunity to drive solutions and progress as they bridge art, advocacy, and impact in an era of accelerating climate and environmental justice challenges.

Looking forward, the panel will highlight how today’s storytellers are carrying this legacy into new forms of collaboration, innovation, and engagement—connecting powerful films to real-world change.

Partner events are independently conceived and produced by sponsor and partner organizations. These events take place in official Festival locations and all organizations follow the Sundance Film Festival community agreement.

Capacity is limited. Arriving early to secure your spot is highly recommended. RSVP does not guarantee entry which will be first-come, first-served.
