+ More

Join MPI Original Films for a conversation with featured producers, writer-directors, and activists on the power of short films to entertain, educate, and inspire. Panelists will share insights from their creative journeys and offer an insider’s look at MPI’s Short Film Lab.

Featuring the MPI Original short: The Art of Inflation.

In 2018, Venezuela’s inflation skyrocketed to over 1,000,000%, driving more than seven million Venezuelans to flee the country as refugees. Set against the backdrop of this economic collapse, the MPI Original short The Art of Inflation follows two fictional brothers struggling to survive on a militia-run coca farm. With their lives on the line, the younger brother risks everything in a desperate bid for freedom — and for the girl he loves.

Partner events are independently conceived and produced by sponsor and partner organizations. These events take place in official Festival locations and all organizations follow the Sundance Film Festival community agreement.

Capacity is limited. Arriving early to secure your spot is highly recommended. RSVP does not guarantee entry which will be first-come, first-served.
