Events located at the Filmmaker Lodge are free for all Festival badge holders and attendees with a Festival ID attached to a 2026 Sundance Film Festival account.

Access is provided on a first-come, first-served basis and is subject to seating availability. No ticket or pre-registration is required to attend.

Ava DuVernay

    Filmmaker Ava DuVernay is an Academy Award nominee and a winner of Emmy, BAFTA, Peabody, Sundance, and Image Awards. Her films include Selma, 13th, Middle of Nowhere, A Wrinkle in Time, and Origin. She has created seven television series, including the acclaimed When They See Us and Queen Sugar. Founder of the narrative change collective ARRAY, DuVernay holds honorary doctorates from Yale and Morehouse.

      Barbara Kopple is a two-time Academy Award–winning and 10-time Emmy-nominated filmmaker. She received a Lifetime Achievement Award at the 44th Annual News and Documentary Emmy Awards in 2023. Throughout her career, she has directed and produced upward of 50 films, including Harlan County, USA and American Dream.
