Ticket Refund Policy

All public package, pass, and ticket sales are final. Refunds and exchanges are not permitted except as set forth below and at Sundance Institute’s sole discretion.
- If the in-person portion of the Festival is canceled, attendees who have purchased an in-person package or pass will receive a refund of the package or pass price. Attendees who have purchased in-person single screening tickets will receive a refund of the ticket price or can elect to exchange the in-person ticket for an online single screening ticket to the same film if that film is available on the Festival platform.
- If the entire Festival is postponed or canceled, all package, pass, and ticketholders will receive a refund of the product price.
Refunds will be issued to the credit card account used to make the purchase (even if the ticketing product was subsequently transferred). Please note that payment processing fees will not be refunded.
Certain ticketing products are subject to specific purchase limits, proof of age or location requirements, or may be non-transferable. For all gifts/transfers, please ensure that you have the recipient’s correct email address. Below are some frequently asked ticketing questions.
Why can’t I add more packages to my cart?
Most package types (i.e., Festival Package and Award-Winners Package) and the Express Pass (Second Half) are limited to two per account and can be gifted or transferred. The Locals Package, Salt Lake City Pass, and Ignite Package are limited to one per account and cannot be gifted or transferred.
Why is it making me send a product as a gift?
There is a limit of two of any package type per account. You are allowed to purchase or use up to four tickets to a specific screening, but you are only allowed to keep one ticket for yourself. You will be prompted to gift any extras at checkout.
Why isn’t my promo code working?
Promo codes have a variety of restrictions, so please read the fine print on the promo code you are trying to use. Promo codes are also case sensitive and subject to limited quantities. If you are seeing an error stating that the maximum number of uses has been met, then your promo code is no longer available.
What form of payment is accepted?
The Festival will be cashless (no physical money), and ticket, merchandise, and any other Festival product purchases will be transacted digitally.
